MineralProtect · by JUMBOGUARD
Pool surround & paving sealing in Perth.
Travertine, liquid limestone, granite and concrete around a Perth pool cop it all: salt water, sunscreen and body oil, constant wet-and-dry, and a coping that bakes all summer. MineralProtect re-engineers the surface so it repels water, resists oil and staining, and keeps its grip underfoot, without changing the colour or the look you chose. Water-based, breathable, and registered under a 10-year guarantee.
The problem
What a Perth pool does to stone.
A pool surround is the hardest-working stone on the property. It is porous, it sits in the splash zone, and it takes salt, oil and heat every day of summer. Left unsealed, the coping and paving draw all of it in, and the marks that follow are the ones you cannot scrub back out.
Salt & pool water
Pool splash and reticulation carry salt into porous coping. As it dries in the sun it crystallises inside the stone and blooms white on top.
Sunscreen & oil
Sunscreen, tanning oil and body oil are the stains that mark pool paving. On unsealed stone they soak straight into the open pores.
Wet-slip
Bare feet, splash-out and a smooth wet surface. Whatever you seal with has to keep the paving's grip, not glaze it over.
Heat & sun
The coping bakes all summer, which drives the wet-and-dry cycle that drags salt in and dulls exposed colour over time.
How we seal it
We re-engineer the surface.
MineralProtect is a next-generation sol-gel that re-engineers the surface of your coping and paving, right where the salt, sunscreen and cleaning actually hit. It bonds into the surface instead of sitting on top as a film, so there is nothing to peel, yellow or go slick underfoot. Water-based, breathable and colourless, applied by JUMBOGUARD Certified Applicators. Why sealing works
Step one
First, we prepare it properly.
A full professional clean lifts salt residue, sunscreen oil, grime and organic staining from the stone and its joints, so the seal bonds to a clean, sound surface. The clean is included. It is preparation, not a separate service.
Step two
Then the seal changes how it behaves.
- Repels water. Splash-out and reticulation bead and sheet off the surface instead of soaking into the stone.
- Resists oil and staining. Sunscreen, tanning and body oil sit on the surface and wash off more easily instead of soaking in and marking.
- Keeps its grip. No glossy topcoat to get slick when wet. The coating holds the paving's own texture, which matters most where bare wet feet walk.
- Breathable, so salt is not trapped. The stone still dries out and vents moisture, so salt is not sealed in behind a film to flake the surface later.
- Colourless, changes nothing. MineralProtect is water-based and non-pigmenting: it does not darken, shift or coat the stone. The colour you chose stays exactly as it is.
Pricing and guarantee
$16/m², all-in. Minimum job $960.
One published rate for the whole pool surround. Every square metre includes the full professional preparation clean, MineralProtect applied by JUMBOGUARD Certified Applicators, and registration of your guarantee. The clean is included, never itemised or sold on its own.
- Cleaned. A full professional prep clean lifts salt, sunscreen oil and grime before we seal.
- Sealed. MineralProtect, water-based, breathable and colourless, applied to a JUMBOGUARD standard.
- Guaranteed. Registered to your job under a 10-year guarantee.
Two clocks, kept separate. We recommend a top-up roughly every one to three years to keep the seal performing at full strength, and every surface differs, so we track when yours is due. The 10-year guarantee sits on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.

Common questions
Sealing a pool surround, answered.
Can pool paving be sealed if it is always getting wet?
Yes, and it should be. What ruins pool paving is not the wet, it is the wet-and-dry cycle: water carrying salt and pool chemistry soaks into porous stone, then the Perth sun dries it and leaves the salt behind to crystallise inside the surface. MineralProtect is water-based and breathable, so it re-engineers the surface, sheds most of that water where it lands, and still lets the stone dry out and breathe. Salt is not sealed in behind a film.
Will salt water or chlorine damage the sealer?
Routine pool chemistry is exactly what MineralProtect is built to stand up to. It is an inorganic mineral network, so day-to-day chlorinated or salt-chlorinated splash-out does not break it down the way it wears through ordinary sealers. The honest bound is that it is more resistant, not immune: concentrated pool acid used for dosing, or chronically low-pH water, is far harsher, and no sealer makes carbonate stone like travertine or limestone acid-immune. Dose acid into the water, never over the coping, and rinse any splash straight away.
Will sealing make my pool paving slippery?
No. It does not lay down a glossy film that can get slick when wet the way a topcoat can. Because MineralProtect bonds into the surface instead of forming a layer on top, it keeps the paving's own texture and grip. That matters most right around a pool, where people walk in bare wet feet.
How long does it last, and is it guaranteed?
Two things, kept separate on purpose. We recommend a top-up roughly every one to three years to keep the seal performing at full strength, and every surface differs, so we track when yours is due. The guarantee runs for 10 years, covering the sealed surface performing as described, and it sits on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.
